ARIA has ONE seat allocated for a representative on each of the following
panels:
IND (AFTER ENTRY)
UK VISAS
ASYLUM AND IMMIGRATION TRIBUNAL (AIT)
WORK PERMITS UK
DETENTION AND BAIL
The representative
nominated by the Association is the person expected to attend at the
appropriate pre-scheduled meetings for each panel. It is only the
named representative permitted to attend unless a substitute needs to
attend in their place should the nominated representative be unable to
attend. Although dates of meetings are provided, these are provided for
information only and not as an invitation for any person in the
Association to attend any meeting.
Should any member
wish to raise an agenda item at any of the meetings, this must be done
through the appropriate nominated ARIA representative who will report back
to the Association after the meeting.
In order that all
members are aware of requests for agenda items etc, it is proposed these
items and agenda matters be displayed on the appropriate page for the
meeting. Also, appropriate pages will include: the dates of the next
meetings, information/minute details of past meetings, names and contact
details for the appropriate representatives, and the facility for members
to contact appropriate representatives to advise of Agenda items etc.
AGENDA ITEMS
Representatives will
be responsible for lodging Agenda items with the secretaries of the
appropriate meetings at the time Agenda items are requested. Dates by
which Agenda items are required will be published, but in general are 2 to
3 weeks before the meeting is due to take place. This length of
time is required to enable Agenda items to be investigated by the
Chairpersons prior to the meeting to enable comprehensive responses to be
provided at the time the meeting takes place.
Members of ARIA
should lodge items with the appropriate ARIA representatives as soon as
possible and not wait until the meeting is about to take place. This will
ensure the appropriate ARIA representative is fully aware of all matters
to be provided on the Agenda and to be discussed well in advance of the
meeting. Late Agenda items will not be considered after the 'agenda cut
off' date for the appropriate meeting.
Reports back to the
Association by the appropriate representative will be provided as soon as
possible after the meeting has taken place and / or the minutes are
provided to the ARIAS Secretary.
PUBLICATION OF
MINUTES OF MEETINGS
We have been advised
generally Minutes of User panel meetings are not for public
release, however appropriate extracts of Minutes can be provided to ensure
matters are reported back in an appropriate manner, and all information
for Members is published and for their attention.
